Cities across Europe, one at a time

We operate in several European countries. Which buildings are open changes, so we answer per request rather than publishing a list.

Where we are

We do not publish a city list, because it changes.

We take on buildings one at a time and let some go. A list printed here would be wrong within a season, and a wrong list is worse than no list. Tell us where you are heading and we answer with what we have there now.

How we choose

A building is chosen for its street

Before we look at a building we walk the road it stands on: a bakery, a tram stop, a park at the end of the street, somewhere to eat after nine in the evening. A building on the right street is worth more to a guest than a lobby.

That is also why we will not standardise the rooms. Each one is decorated for the place it stands in, which is the part of the brief we keep.

On arrival

What the last hundred metres are like

The part of a stay nobody photographs is the walk in: whether the door is on the street or up a stair, whether the entrance is covered when it rains, whether a taxi can stop outside. We describe that in the reply, address by address, because arriving badly colours the first night.

If you need a step-free entrance or a lift, say so in the request and we will confirm it for the building we offer, not for the group.

Ask before you book

Ask us

What to send us instead of a city name

The more of this you give us, the more useful the answer.

The city, or the airport

If you are still deciding, send the airport or station you arrive at and we will tell you which of our buildings is closest to it.

Your dates

Nights change everything: a Tuesday in February and a Saturday in June are not the same question.

Who is travelling

Adults, children and their ages. It decides whether a double or a family suite is the honest answer.

What you want nearby

A market, a museum, a specific address. We will tell you how the street around the building actually works.

Next step

Tell us where you are going

Send the city or the airport and your dates. We will tell you what we have, what it costs in euro, and how to reach it.

What we need from you

  • Where — the city, or the airport you land at.
  • When — arrival and departure dates.
  • Who — how many adults, and the ages of any children.
  • What — room type, and whether breakfast matters.
